Why it matters.

Progressive churches have a beautiful story to tell — and too often, no capacity to tell it. The churches with the biggest budgets get the loudest megaphone, so one version of faith gets amplified everywhere, while another — the one where loving your neighbor, whoever they are, sits at the center — struggles to be heard.

That's the work I care about most. The story is already there, alive in the congregation every Sunday; my job is simply to help tell it. First on Fifth's story is now reaching more people than ever, and that matters beyond one congregation. The more churches that share a message of bold love and boundless compassion, the more people — all people — get to feel what it's like to be truly welcomed.
