Ryan Jones, founder of Do Good Brands
About Ryan

Hi, I'm Ryan Jones.

I founded Do Good Brands in 2021, after a decade across business development, marketing, sales, and operations. We work with entrepreneur ecosystems and faith communities — two groups most agencies overlook.

Before Do Good Brands I worked inside healthcare, beverage, food production, retail, consulting, and nonprofits — including a stretch at Lexington Brewing and Distilling, where I helped grow sales 50%+ by launching new states and locking down key accounts. I learned that the difference between a brand that travels and a brand that doesn't usually comes down to whether someone has stayed up nights worrying about the operations behind it.

I also co-founded and ran Lincoln Road Roastery in Norton, Virginia. Running a small consumer brand from the inside is its own kind of work — payroll, the shop floor, customer feedback in real time — and it changed how I think about every client we take on now.

Before launching Do Good Brands, I spent time in the nonprofit world working with founders whose ideas had the potential to scale through new markets and technology. That's still what I care about — helping the operators, not just the obvious winners.

Why this work

Most agencies aren't built for the people who need them most.

The marketing playbook everyone teaches assumes you have a Series A budget, a growth team, and a clear product-market fit. Churches don't have that. Regional founder ecosystems don't have that. Nonprofits and small operators don't have that.

But they're the ones doing the work that actually moves communities forward — and they deserve modern brand, story, and tech without paying agency-of-record prices for it. So we built one that fits.

What I believe

A few things I won't compromise on.

01

Lead with outcomes, not tools.

AI is a tool. Video is a tool. Newsletters are a tool. The point is what they do for your community — people reached, founders supported, money raised, congregations served. Tools change. Outcomes are what we keep score on.

02

Story over volume.

Every channel rewards scale, so most brands chase scale and lose the story along the way. I'd rather make ten things that mean something than a hundred that don't.

03

AI where it helps. Never where it shouldn't.

We use modern tools — including AI where it gives your team time back to do the work only humans can do. We don't use it where the human matters more than the throughput.

04

The agency has to use what it sells.

I used to run a coffee shop. I host a podcast. I built the dashboard the agency uses to report on client work. Everything we recommend, we use ourselves — because if it doesn't work for us, it won't work for you.
